A clear resin binder from Morrells' Induro range, designed to be mixed with dust collected from sanding your own floor rather than used as a pre-tinted filler. That means the finished fill takes on the exact colour and grain of the wood it's going into, not a generic approximation. Use it during a sanding job to fill gaps between boards, small...

Morrells' filler range splits cleanly into two jobs. Induro Mix & Fill is a resin filler, mixed with your own sanding dust during a refinishing job to fill gaps between boards with a colour-matched result. The wax filler sticks, in soft and hard variants, handle small repairs on a floor that's already finished, no sanding required. Which one you need depends entirely on whether you're mid-sanding job or patching up a finished floor. Call 020 8830 9785 if you're not sure which applies to your situation.

Resin filler vs wax sticks

Induro Mix & Fill is used during sanding, combined with the dust from your own floor so the fill matches the wood's actual colour and grain rather than a generic shade. It's applied before the finish goes on and gets sealed in as part of the normal finishing process. The wax filler sticks work completely differently: they're melted or pressed into small chips, holes or scratches on a floor that's already sealed, with no sanding and no separate finishing step needed afterwards, since the wax itself becomes the visible repair.

Product Type Used when
Induro Mix & Fill Resin, mixed with sanding dust During sanding, before finishing
Soft Wax Filler Sticks Wax stick, light assorted shades Spot repairs on a finished floor, easier into fine cracks
Hard Wax Filler Sticks Wax stick, light and dark assorted shades Spot repairs, better wear resistance in traffic areas

Soft wax vs hard wax sticks

Between the two wax stick options, soft wax is easier to work into fine cracks and small, delicate repairs, while hard wax holds up better in areas that see more foot traffic. Both come in assorted shade packs rather than single colours, since spot repairs usually need blending across a small range of tones to match the surrounding floor.

FAQ

Can I use Induro Mix & Fill for a small chip repair instead of a wax stick? It's possible but not the efficient choice, resin filler is meant to be mixed with sanding dust as part of a sanding job, not applied as a standalone patch on a finished floor. A wax stick is the simpler tool for that kind of repair.

How do I choose between the light and dark assorted wax stick packs? It comes down to your floor's overall tone. The assorted packs give you a small range of shades to blend from within either the light or dark end of the spectrum, so pick whichever pack sits closer to your floor's colour.

Does Induro Mix & Fill need to be sanded back after it's applied? Yes, as part of the normal sanding sequence, the filled area gets sanded flush with the rest of the floor before finishing goes on, rather than left as applied.

Is Morrells filler compatible with other brands' lacquers? Resin filler generally works under most finishes once properly sanded and sealed, but it's worth checking compatibility with your specific topcoat brand, particularly if you're combining a Morrells filler with a different manufacturer's lacquer system.
